Mrs. Jennifer Alvey Recognized at Volunteer Mobile Heart of Gold Luncheon

     On Thursday, April 23, fifth grade parent, Jennifer Alvey, was one was 37 volunteers recognized for service to the Mobile community at the annual Volunteer Mobile Heart of Gold Awards. Mrs. Alvey has volunteered at Castlen Elementary in the classroom and in the media center for more than eight years. Through her diligence and hard work, textbook checkout and checkin has been a breeze.  Her creative side has been part of the Castlen Countryside with her great bulletin boards and displays. Mrs. Alvey labels, laminates and loves every minute of her time at Castlen.  Her enthusiasm is contagious.  She has become an indispensable part of the media center staff, providing assistance to students and staff members daily. Her  devoted service to Castlen provides an outstanding model for our students in understanding the value of community service. Thank you, Mrs. Alvey, and all our parents and grandparents who volunteer daily at Castlen Elementary.
